At Bridge, innovation and technology are transforming learning outcomes for children. We create world-class lessons based on national curricula; develop in-depth teacher training and support programmes, and use cutting edge wireless technology. Our schools, and those we support, empower teachers and communities by being data driven and evidenced based. We’re proof that great education can be delivered sustainably, at scale and within the limited budgets of developing country governments. We’re always accountable to government(s) and have several different models. We’re a trusted partner because families and governments have seen our results and believe in the difference that we make to their children, communities, and the future of both. We offer a range of services at scale to teachers, pupils, school operators, governments, and non-governmental organisations.

Problem

Globally, there is an education crisis. Around 600 million children are either not in school at all, or in school and not learning. Bridge is committed to helping tackle this through a data driven, evidence based approach that delivers strong schools and a great education for all.

Solution

Bridge runs a range of innovative partnerships and supports some Governments to transform their public education systems while in other countries it provides educational opportunity and choice for parents. Bridge leverages in-depth teacher training and support, advanced lesson plans and wireless technology to provide pupils with a meaningful and life-changing education. To date multiple independent national exam results, Studies, RCTs and assessments show Bridge is improving learning gains.

Target Beneficiaries

Families living on under $2 a day, which the World Bank notes is at extreme poverty levels. We do this through supporting national and local Governments to transform their public education systems or through offering parents educational opportunity and choice for their children in affordable community schools.

Mission and Vision

At Bridge, our mission is to provide millions of children with a life-changing education.

Competitive Advantage

Bridge is the only organisation that is delivering increased learning gains sustainably and at scale for some of the most impoverished communities in the world.

Planned Goals and Milestones

Bridge began in order to help solve a single, seemingly intractable problem; hundreds of millions of children worldwide who do not have access to schools that empower and inspire them. We help children in parts of the world where there is a shortage of learning, by boosting government schools and running complementary affordable schools. Since 2007, we have reached 750,000 children through hundreds of schools across Africa and India. We believe every child has the right to education. So, we work in partnership with governments, communities, teachers and parents to improve or deliver high quality nurseries and primary schools in underserved areas. We are data driven and evidence based and our model adapts to the needs of individual governments. We have re-engineered every part of the education system, from teacher training and support, to lesson delivery, construction, and financial administration; making our academies as effective and affordable as possible. In countries such as Kenya, we run affordable schools; whereas in Liberia we are part of a public private partnership, and in Andhra Pradesh — eastern India — we have an infrastructure partnership. Our models hold us accountable to families and governments and we are flexible whenever we can serve more marginalised communities and improve learning outcomes for children.
